This is the group that came with Muneyuki to hunt down Chifusa in the Munamori Village.

Appearance[]

They all wear an outfit that differs from those worn by the standard Manyuu soldiers. Each assassin in this squad has a personalized outfit, except for the twins, who wear their clothes in the same fashion. Being Manyuu elite warriors, they are uniformly buxom and proud of their size, though they're reduced to A cups when defeated.

Yasha is the tallest of the group, has long auburn hair kept loose and a stern expression. Her uniform includes armor on her hips and a long frontal sash, though apparently she wears no underwear beneath. She also carries two swords with her.

The twins Kasumi and Kagero are short women with spiky white hair, impish faces and the shozoku arranged at the bottom to resemble a miniskirt more than anything else, while the front has a wide oval opening to show their cleavage.

Kirino is taller than the Twins but not as much as Yasha, has long black hair in a ponytail and wears a white scarf around her neck. Unlike the other three, her shozoku uniform lacks a midriff section, but has full pants.

Personalities[]

Being elites of the Manyuu clan, all four of them are ruthless, haughty and cruel. Because of their status and superior breast size, they arrogantly think they can verbally abuse and bully Ouka Sayama, despite actually being much less skilled than she is. Yasha is the coldest and most stoic of the group, usually watching events with cold disdain but not above showing confidence over an apparent victory, while Kirino is more action-prone and overly proud of her skill, being the one who takes the initiative during the attack. Kagero and Kasumi are clearly the meanest of the trio, showing no fear into insulting Ouka in her face and laughing at her flat chest; they also have no qualms about going for the weakest opponent in a fight or even targeting harmless civilians, nor calling her opponents names.

After losing their breasts to Kagefusa and Tsuyuha, their spirits are broken and are left crestfallen.

Abilities[]

Being he top class of the Manyuu Clan, the Assassin Squad is composed of well trained swordswomen and kunoichi, far superior to untrained people and being able to go toe to toe against stronger, trained warriors such as Chifusa or Kagefusa. However, aside from their above-average battle skills, their overconfidence leads to them being open to surprise attacks and ultimately unable to win against much more skilled opponents.

Superior Speed: Kirino's specialty is her unearthly speed, demonstrated when she, while standing perfectly still in front of Chifusa, is able to seemingly teleport right in front of her with a deadly slash aimed at the neck. Kirino is also able to outmaneuver Chifusa with ease and dodge all her attacks with ease. However, her speed fails her against an unexpected attack.

Teamwork: Being identical twins, Kasumi and Kagero takes full advantage of this factor to confuse their opponents, switch place with each other and distract opponents with sneak attacks. During their brief struggle against Chifusa, one of them keeps Chifusa busy while the latter jumps over her to attack the non-combatants. However, Kagefusa's presence renders this technique null.

Dual Wielding Swordsmanship: Yasha's own fencing style allows her to wield two swords of equal length at the same time, displaying a high level of skill and competence which allows her to overwhelm Tsuyuha in combat, chop her naginata into pieces and draw blood, wounding her. It is telling that she's apparently the last of the squad to fall.

Story[]

In Episode 12, the Assassin Squad is chosen by Muneyuki Manyuu, alongside Ouka, for hunting down the fugitive Chifusa Manyuu, cut her breasts and execute Kaede since she already suffered the breast cut. As they ride to Munemori Village, Kirino and the twins makes offensive remarks at Ouka for her flat chest, showing great confidence in the upcoming fight, while Yasha is the only one voicing her worrying for the absence of Kagefusa.

Upon arriving at Munemori Village, as soon as Muneyuki is done talking to Chifusa, the four assassins are sent to execute the fugitive, starting with Kirino challenging Chifusa and easily outpacing her with her superior speed and mocking her skills. However, before she can go for the kill, Tsuyuha arrives at the scene in fully battle regalia and after telling Chifusa to focus, proceed to slash down Kirino's chest with the true Chichinagashi, which causes her to scream how pleasureable it feels before swooning. Soon, a three-way battle starts with Chifusa, Kaede and Tsuyuha fightng Yasha, Kagero and Kasumi. After dueling with one of the twins, Chifusa is pulled in a blade lock while the other sister jumps over her to attack the civilians in the hut, only to find there Kokage. As she question her presence, she's ambushed by Kagefusa, who cuts down her breasts and steps outside, revealing her presence. The battle in the village continues with the remaining twin fighting Kagefusa while Yasha is able to overwhelm and wound Tsuyuha with her two-sword style.

After the final clash between Chifusa and Ouka, Kagefusa appears before her, alongside Tsuyuha, her mother and Kokage, casually mentioning how the battle was a piece of cake while showing all four assassins with deflated chests, comically crying over their loss.

Trivia[]

  • Yasha (夜叉) is named after the Japanese name for Yaksha, an asian earthly demon who sometimes serves higher powers such as the Dragon Kings or other deities.
  • Kasumi and Kagero (霞, 蜉蝣) means, literally, "Mist" and "Mayfly". The former is also the only assassin whose name contains only one character. the Kage in Kagero also contains a radical also seen in the kanji for "breasts".
  • Kirino (霧乃) contains the kanji for "fog" and the possessive particle, making her name sounds like "Manyuu of the Mist".
