Okami is the Landlady of an inn in Chikuba City, and she is also a secret Manyū assassin. She can use a breast illusion technique in order to defeat her foes.
Appearance[]
Okami is a tall woman with a solar face, brown hair tied in a ponytail and very voluptuous feature, having broad shoulders, wide hips and, most notably, enormous breasts that visibly bulge even in her modest kimono. However, due to their size and use of her technique, her boobs are greatly sagging and will do so more and more with age, currently hanging down to her bellybutton.
She wears a bright pink plain kimono with tied cloth on each shoulder and a yellow bow on her ponytail and a dark obi which is almost hidden by her massive breasts. After being defeated in her attempt to capture Chifusa, she's given a massive metal brassiere which should minimize the damage of her sagging breasts.
Personality[]
As a whole, Okami is very deceptive, seen right from her introduction when she meekly tries to stop Chichi and Chifusa from quarreling, only to then bare her huge breasts and swing them around to lead the township in celebration, showing no shame. She can act cordial, sweet and kind to her "customers", but in truth she's much colder and willing to use poison to win. She seems to be bitter at Chifusa, being jealous of her healthier breasts and scolding her for being unworthy of the Manyuu Clan leadership when she wrongly believes Chifusa used the ointment as a trap for her. Her loyalty to the Manyuu clan is unquestionable, as she immediately tries to continue her mission again as soon as she recovers, but deep down, it seems that part of her kindness and warm persona is genuine.
Like most of the women in the series, Okami has been shown to have little modesty when it comes to her breasts, having openly revealed her breasts in a public street in front of dozens of men to stop a squabble between Chifusa and Chichi.
Abilities[]
- Expert Herbalist: Okami has been shown to have expertise on herbs, in particular a special herb which she uses in combination with her Breasts Illusion technique. Her herb is subtle enough that even that even the Shogunate antidote team, who specialize in herbs, wouldn't notice it when she had placed it in Chifusa and Kaede's food, yet it's subtly doesn't make it any less effective as it was able to affect Chifusa severely and completely incapacitate Kaede.
- Trained Swordsman: As a trained Manyuu assassin, Okami has been trained in swordsmanship. Her level of skill in it hasn't been shown, albeit combined with her Breasts Illusion technique she was one of the few people who showed the capability to defeat Chifusa had it not been for an interference.
- Breasts Illusion (Chichi-mudou): Okami has displayed the ability to use the Breasts Illusion technique; an obscure, but effective assassination style which makes use of a special herb which leaves her victims drowsy, while swaying her breasts rapidly to intensify the effect of the herb and leave her victims entranced by her breasts. Her mastery of it is great enough that she was able to completely entrance Chifusa, who's usually not easily enticed by breasts, who was only able to escape the illusion due to Kaede's interference. The one major drawback of the technique however is that Okami has stated overusing the technique causes her breasts to sag.
- Partial Chichinagashi Defense: As a side effect of having enormous breasts, they are so saggy that they're pushed back al the way under her armpits as she charges forward, meaning that Chifusa's actually unable to hit them with her sword, forcing her to kick her in the stomach so that her breasts will align as she flies backward.
- Cooking: While it's only an undercover job, Okami seems to be an excellent chef, with Kaede openly praising and weeping over the boar hotpot she made and even Chifusa comments on its quality.
History[]
Okami is first introduced in episode 2, where she walks in Chifusa and Chichi's altercation, kindly begging them to find a better way to solve their argument before asking them to not fight for the sake of her breasts, baring her gigantic mammaries and swinging them around, driving the local crowd wild in celebration and defusing the situation.
Much later, Chifusa and Kaede are directed to an inn, where they are surprised to meet the woman from before there. They talk to her as they're served an excellent dinner and she's shown to be likeable and kind, though at one moment she becomes irritated by Kaede's antics, and later is shown smirking with her back turned when Kaede mentions the baths. After Chifusa fends off Kaede's amorous advances and notices that something's off with her, Okami, wearing nothing but her hair bow, a fundoshi and a sword, steps in, commenting on Chifusa's enchanting breasts and how her own technique will make her breast drop and sag more and more with time. As she starts spinning her breasts, she confirms to Chifusa that she's indeed a Manyuu hitman and that they were fed poisonous herbs so rare that not even the Bakufu poison tasters would have noticed. As Chifusa's unable to react, Okami unleashes and explains her Chichimudou illusion, claiming how countless victims passed out in sheer pleasure; as Chifusa's mesmerized in a blissful state, Okami rushes her with her katana to finish her off quickly, only to being groped by a love-struck Kaede, who proceed to suckle on her breast and causes her to slip on the Breast-Polishing ointment and hit her head on a bucket, breaking the spell. As Chifusa recovers, Okami angrily blames her for using the ointment as a trap and deems her unworthy of being the Manyuu Clan Leader and leaps at her for another attack. Realizing that she's unable to use Chichinagashi against her saggy breasts, Chifusa waits until the last moment to kick the attacker in the solar plexus, sending her flying back and aligning her breasts for a finishing attack. As Okami's breasts are reduced in size, Chifusa's bust grows even larger and more sensitive to pleasure, causing her to lactate on the spot.
The following day Okami wakes up in her bed, checks her bust, reduced in size but still big, before grabbing her blade and looking for Chifusa to end her job. However, she stumbles in a package and a letter left by Chifusa and Kaede, who thanks her for the food and bath, leaving her money, a set of instruction on how to avoid sagging breasts and a massive metal bra to reduce this effect, inviting her to keep working as an innkeeper. As she tries the bra and watches herself in the mirror, Okami smiles warmly.
Anime and Manga Differencies[]
In the original manga chapter, the encounter with Chichi didn't have the Landlady as the Manyuu antagonist, but the manga-only character Ame Shuuji, a woman who can lactate toxic milk to kill her victims but wishes to raise children normally. Okami herself appears much later, after Kaede joined Chifusa.
In the manga, her defeat is much more inglorious as she simply slips over Kaede's Breast-Polishing mixture on the ground and hit her head on a wooden bucket, losing consciousness. The anime has her losing her balance for being tackled by a love-struck Kaede before slipping, only to recover from the fall and attempt one more attack on Chifusa before suffering the Chichinagashi. The part where Chifusa give her the metal bra is also added there.
Trivia[]
- She is voiced by Hitomi Harada, who is known for voicing Mizuki Himeji in Baka and Test. Born in November of 1987, Hitomi was likely 23 years old when voicing Okami.
- She is the only Manyū assassin who uses illusionary tactics.
- She is the only woman seen wearing a bra in the series, since women at the time used sarashi bandages.
- Her Chichimudou technique refers to the Sukhavati, known in Japan as either Gokuraku (Apex of Pleasure) or Jodou (Pure Land), the paradise promised by Amitabha in Mahayana Buddhism, which explains the background in the anime.
- Okami (Japanese: 女将) actually means "landlady" in Japanese. Her actual name is unknown.
- Despite the heavy sagging, Okami's breasts are still seemingly considered very attractive by the in-story standards, sending a whole crowd of men wild and even causing some women (Chifusa, Kaede and Chichi in the manga) to briefly become enamored with them.
- Blu-ray Specials 1, 3, and 4 potentially take place in the hot springs at Okami's Inn. Not only is the scenery similar in both Okami's and Kagefusa's nude reveals, but Chifusa makes mention of Okami right at the beginning of Special 1.
